Doctoral fellowships

30 new students per year from Mexico to Texas.

Funding available for students admitted to Ph.D. programs in fall 2018. Fellowship covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend and health insurance costs for up to five years. Prospective students must apply to UT System Ph.D. program, CONACYT, and ConTex in order to qualify for the fellowship.  See the CONACYT website for more information. (conacyt.gob.mx)

PostDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Up to 10 per year selected from either country.

Postdoctoral scholars seeking to pursue research at Mexican or UT System institutions will receive annual salary & health insurance for up to a 12-month period. Fellowships are open to all areas of study. High priority areas may be defined in the call. Annual call for applications announced in October 2017 with a deadline of March 2018. Selected applicants will be notified in June 2018.

Applicants must have Ph.D. in hand by March 15, 2018 and must be either Mexican national (for study at UT institution) or have graduated from UT institution (for study at Mexican institution).

Collaborative Research Grants

$1 million annual competition.

Awards of up to $100,000 will be provided for a maximum of 12-18 months. Proposed projects must be co-directed by a Principal Investigator from a UT System institution and a Principal Investigator from a CONACYT-affiliated Mexican academic institution.

faculty fellows

Up to 9 per year from each country.

Two calls for fellowship applications will be announced annually. Fellowships provide support for Mexican and UT System faculty pursuing research and cross border collaborations. Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend and health insurance for a period of up to six months.

Visiting Graduate Research training

10 per year selected from either country.

Funding supports short-term visits for Mexican and UT System master’s and Ph.D. students to engage in research experiences for six to twelve months. Selected students will receive a stipend and health insurance support. 

We hope to launch this program in early 2018.
