Doctoral fellowships

30 new students per year from Mexico to Texas.

Fellowship covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend and health insurance costs for up to five years. Prospective students must apply to UT System Ph.D. program(s), apply for a CONACYT scholarship, and register with ConTex in order to qualify for the fellowship.  See the CONACYT website for more information. PostDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Up to 10 per year selected from either country.

Postdoctoral scholars seeking to pursue research at Mexican or UT System institutions will receive annual salary & health insurance for up to a 12-month period. Fellowships are open to all areas of study. High priority areas may be defined in the call. 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and must be either Mexican national (for study at UT institution) or have graduated from UT institution (for study at Mexican institution).

Collaborative Research Grants

$1 million annual competition.

This call funds partnerships of UT System and Mexico based researchers. Each proposal must be led by at least one eligible Principal Investigator from a UT System campus and at least one eligible Principal Investigator from a Mexican institution. Grants of up to $100,000 for twelve months are available for research teams. The amount of the grant award will vary depending on the needs of each project. Proposals must contribute to the economic development and welfare of Mexico and Texas.

Up to 9 per year from each country.

Two calls for fellowship applications will be announced annually. Fellowships provide support for Mexican and UT System faculty pursuing research and cross border collaborations. Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend and health insurance for a period of up to six months.

Visiting Graduate Research training

10 per year selected from either country.

Funding supports short-term visits for Mexican and UT System master’s and Ph.D. students to engage in research experiences for six to twelve months. Selected students will receive a stipend and health insurance support.
